Possibilities for Accommodation
In the close vicinity of Homoródkarácsonyfalva, we can book rooms for you in advance in two pensions. Both pensions are of high standard, and are suitable for our guests to spend a longer period of rest there. If needed, accommodation is possible at private houses as well.

If you ask in advance, food will also be provided.
The price of accommodation at the pensions is usually 15 EUR/person/night, and we can give you an exact price offer on request.

Visiting historical monuments
Dear Guest! As you can learn from this homepage, the two churches of Homoródkarácsonyfalva welcome the visitors with monuments of exceptional quality, among them, the great medieval frescoes of major significance. It is a real treasure that you can enjoy in the same village the great masterpieces of architecture from the period of the Hungarian Árpád dynasty, the frescoes of medieval Gothic, the 18th century Unitarian painted coffered wooden ceiling, and wooden furnishings, together with the sculptures of saint bishops from the pre-reformation period in the Baroque church, and the unique Renaissance side altar of unequalled beauty.
The price of guiding: 5 RON in the Unitarian church, and free of charge in the Catholic church until the reconstruction works are finished there. We ask you, if possible, to check in in advance.

Active relaxation

visiting the “esztena”: at the summer quarters of the shepherds, you can have a look at the traditional methods of animal husbandry and get to know the daily life of the shepherds. The “esztena” is a place for keeping animals, and also functions as shepherds’ quarters. This is also the place for such activities as sheep-shearing, milking the sheep, and making delicious cheese.

The natural surroundings of Homoródkarácsonyfalva are extremely beautiful, as the village is situated at the foot of the Hargita mountain, on the border of evergreen and deciduous forests. For this reason, the area has an outstandingly rich fauna and the region is a renowned place for hunting.

Organizing and providing guidance for walking tours

taking a trip to the ravine of the Vargyas stream or seeing the Almási cave (for seeing this outstanding spot of tourist attraction, transfer can be provided on request).
we also undertake the organization of programmes specially for rainy days. We organize handicraft programmes for children where we teach the children furniture-painting, threading of beads, weaving, and “strawing” (working with straw). In case of a rainy weather, on request, we offer our dear guests the possibility to gain experience in bread-baking, griddle-cake baking – in a traditional baker’s oven, of course –, and the possibility of “palinka”-tasting.

Children can take part in all of our organized programmes. On request, for all the touring programmes, we can provide cold meats or possibility for cooking the food on a grill in natural surroundings.
We can organize these programmes for groups. On request, in the case of the touring programmes, we can provide our guests with cold meats or – depending on the nature of the programme – the possibility of open-air cooking. We give you an exact price offer on request.
